Connector Setup

Bridge DataMagik to the systems on your own network — databases, file servers, and printers.

A connector is a small agent you install on a machine inside your network. It gives DataMagik — which runs in the cloud — a secure way to reach on-premise resources it otherwise couldn't: local SQL/ODBC databases, FTP/SFTP and filesystem locations, and network printers.

The Connector Setup page showing sites and connectors
Connector Setup: sites on the left, the connectors registered to them on the right.

Sites and connectors

Open Connectors → Connector Setup. The page is organized into:

  • Sites — a site groups the connectors at one physical location, such as a plant or office. Add a site, then register connectors under it.
  • Connectors — each installed agent, showing its address, version, last-seen time, and online/offline status. Use Edit, Move (to another site), or Remove.
  • The status cards at the top summarize how many sites and connectors you have and how many are online or pending activation.

Installing a connector

  1. Click Download Connector and install it on a machine at the site.
  2. Click Create Connector to register it and get its activation details.
  3. Once the agent connects, it appears as Online.
  4. Use Update Connectors to push the latest agent version to your machines.

What connectors enable

  • Local databases — run SQL/ODBC queries against on-premise databases from the SQL Editor and scripts.
  • File connectors — read and write FTP/SFTP and filesystem locations.
  • Printers — send labels and documents to network printers.

Permissions: Managing connectors requires the Builder permission.
